For more than 30 years, Cooper Fitness Center has taught children and adults the lifelong and lifesaving sport of swimming. Our goal is to make strong and secure swimmers by teaching swim skills and water safety.

Triathlon Training
Youth Triathlon Training & Race
Ages 8-13
Training: Saturday, April 18, 1-2:30 p.m.
Coached by Swim Pro Bobby Manning, this program focuses on:
- Improving swimming, biking and running techniques
- Goal setting
- Race preparation
Race Day: Saturday, April 25, 1-2:30 p.m.
- 200-yard swim in Cooper Hotel pool
- 6-mile bike in Cooper Clinic North parking lot
- 1-mile run on outdoor track
No race experience required. Must be able to swim 50 yards unassisted. Individual training sessions available upon request.
$200 (training + race)

Adult Spring Triathlon Training
Ages 18+
Individual triathlon training—including learning the 17-mile bike route—is available with Coach Bobby Manning.

1. Sprint Distance

800-yard swim in Cooper Fitness Center pool
17-mile bike to White Rock Lake and back
3-mile run on outdoor track
$100/person
2. Olympic Distance
Saturday, April 25, 6 a.m.
1600-yard swim in Cooper Fitness Center pool
27-mile bike to White Rock Lake, around the lake and back
6-mile run on outdoor track
$100/person
3. Beginner Reverse Race
Saturday, April 25, 3 p.m.
2-mile run on outdoor track
12-mile bike on Keiser bike on the pool deck
400-yard swim in Cooper Fitness Center pool
No race experience required. If competing individually, you must be able to swim 50 yards unassisted.
$75/person

Masters Swim Program (S.W.A.M.)
Cooper Fitness Center Members Only – Ages 19+
Don’t let the name fool you, Masters Swimming is for everyone. For beginner to advanced swimmers, Masters is a great way to practice and improve your skills as well as make new friends. Give it a try and see if it’s the workout and social outlet you have been looking for at Cooper Fitness Center Dallas.
- Expertly-designed adult group swim practices, including triathlon swim training
- Learn proper stroke mechanics and training techniques
- Instructed by Pegasus Aquatics Masters Coaches
- Many of the coaches hold All American, National and NCAA Championship titles

Meet the Cooper Masters Coaches
Janie Cole started swimming at age 8, and in college, swam for Baylor University. Since joining Dallas Aquatic Masters in 2005, she has consistently ranked in the U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) Top 10 in butterfly and freestyle sprint events. Janie’s achievements also include swimming on several USMS and Masters world-record breaking relays. She started coaching Masters in 2014 and joined Pegasus Aquatic Masters in 2020.
Jim Dolan began swimming with the AAU Age group team Oak Cliff Swim Club at the age of 8. He has been a long time Masters swimmer holding several U.S. Masters Swimming 50 free records and several relay records. He was a member of the S.W.A.M. club at Cooper Fitness Center Dallas and began coaching Masters in 1994.
Erin Trahan began her elite swim career competing for Crawfish Aquatics becoming a state champion and setting state records in multiple events. She continued her swim career at Southern Methodist University where, overall, she collected 21 All-Conference Honors including six Individual Conference Championships. After coaching for the Coronado Swim Association, Erin moved back to Dallas to continue her coaching career with Dallas Mustangs and now, Pegasus Aquatics.
