Dr. Kenneth Cooper Turns 95

Celebrating Dr. Kenneth Cooper’s 95^th Birthday

Our founder and chairman Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, turns 95 on March 4, 2026. Join us as we celebrate all things fitness, research, prevention, compassion, integrity, excellence and service.

A visionary, entrepreneur and preventive medicine pioneer and physician, Dr. Cooper, worked with NASA to develop a conditioning program for astronauts to use while weightless in space, trained the 1970 Brazilian soccer team to World Cup victory and helped remove trans fats from the American diet which began with Frito-Lay snacks. He credits his success to divine intervention saying, “God has had his hand on my life,” helping millions lead healthier, more active lives. This husband, father and grandfather had no idea the impact he would have on the world, as his plan was finite, but God’s plan was infinite.

Dr. Cooper earned his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma and his master’s degree from Harvard School of Public Health. As Founder and Chairman of Cooper Clinic/Cooper Aerobics Center and Chairman Emeritus of the Kenneth H. Cooper Institute, he resides in Dallas with his wife of 65 years.

At age 95, after practicing and teaching the value of preventive medicine for 56 years, Dr. Cooper continues to think about new ways of doing things, new ways of presenting and studying data, new ways of looking at prevention.
