Director of Nutrition
Ginny Ives serves as the Director of Nutrition Services for Cooper Clinic. Her more than 34 years of experience in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics includes hospital-based nutrition (in- and outpatient), clinical management, ambulatory care and family practice, diabetes and weight management, bariatrics and community-based nutrition.
Ginny received her Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Institution Administration from Oklahoma State University and completed her dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. She is a board-certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and has more than 30 years working in the field of diabetes management and prevention. Ginny also has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Ginny is a Fellow of the American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and is an active member and leader on the local, state and national levels. Ginny is also a certified health coach through the American Council on Execise. Her passion is to help people achieve and maintain good health through healthy lifestyle habits for preventing and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
In addition to helping people achieve good health, Ginny’s other passion is gardening. She specializes in native plants, plants that attract pollinators and herbs. She enjoys staying in shape by cycling and completing road rallies around Texas and taking cycling trips. Outside of work, Ginny spends time with friends and family, as well as her cat, Sookie.
