Easy Grilled Asparagus with Balsamic Vinegar and Fresh Herbs

1 ½ lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed
2 Tbsp. balsamic or red wine vinegar (optional)
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Freshly ground pepper
Fresh herbs for garnish
Preheat grill. Snap off tough ends of asparagus or trim with a knife.
Brush asparagus with oil and vinegar.
Arrange asparagus in grill basket or perpendicular to the grates.
Grill three minutes, turn and cook three more minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender, begin careful not to burn.
Sprinkle with favorite fresh herbs.
