Director of Nutrition
Katherine Tom is the Director of Nutrition at Cooper Clinic. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator. Katherine earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University.
Prior to joining the Cooper Clinic in 2016, Katherine coordinated a multi-site diabetes education program recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Parkland Health and Hospital System. Katherine is passionate about diabetes management and has varied experience working with pediatric and adult patients living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. She has shared her nutrition knowledge through numerous publications, presentations and papers, including Therapy Times magazine, CME speaking engagements and “All Things Considered” via National Public Radio.
Katherine is dedicated to helping people take control of their health by providing nutrition guidance for disease prevention and management. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in 2014 by her Charleston Trident Dietetic Association peers. In her free time, Katherine enjoys boating, long distance running and cooking with family and friends.
