Mole Removal
If an atypical mole is identified in a skin cancer screening, it is removed and tested. To remove the mole, we use gentle numbing and meticulous surface removal without the need for stitches in most cases. The immediate appearance is that of a prominent superficial scratch, and rapid healing is typical with little to no scarring and no signs of stitching.
We also remove moles from the face and other areas of the body for cosmetic reasons.
All moles removed are submitted to the pathologist. If the biopsied mole shows signs of health-threatening changes, further surgery may be required.
