Wheelchair Tennis Players Hit the Courts for 15th Annual Cooper Classic
WHO: Eight doubles teams, each including a Dallas Wheelchair Tennis Club member and a Cooper Fitness Center member. Top Dallas Wheelchair Tennis Club players in this tournament include:
• Wayne "The Ironman" Leavitt: Nationally ranked; has played in over 150 tournaments, including the 14 previous Cooper Classic tournaments
• Randy Snow: Only wheelchair tennis player inducted into the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame; has won the wheelchair tennis U.S. Open 10 times
• Jeff Sale: First wheelchair athlete in Texas to play on a high school tennis team (Red Oak High School)
• Jake May: Dallas native and recent graduate of Baylor Law School
• Mark Cowan: Two-time winner of this event
VISUAL: 15th Annual Cooper Classic Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Tournament: Capture players in action competing for the coveted title in one of the only Dallas area tournaments to team up wheelchair and non-wheelchair players. Each team will play a total of 56 games, following a round robin format. In addition, players are available by appointment prior to the tournament for profile interviews and photographs.

Cooper Fitness Center is one of eight divisions of The Cooper Aerobics Center, founded in 1970 by Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H. Cooper Fitness Center has actively supported wheelchair tennis since the inception of the Cooper Classic tournament in 1989. Many wheelchair tennis club members practice at the Cooper Fitness Center courts, which have been modified to accommodate wheelchairs.
