Soup – It’s What’s Before Dinner
Did you know that soup could help you shed unwanted pounds?
Studies have shown that soup-eaters tend to be less hungry
throughout the day, consume fewer calories at meals, and weigh
less than non-soup eaters. In addition, a number of other
studies have found that consuming broth or tomato-based soups
prior to a meal, especially those chock full of chunky vegetables,
can help increase the “fill factor” of a meal,”
meaning soup can help satisfy hunger with fewer calories consumed.
Include a 100-125 calorie (read your food labels) soup appetizer
for lunch and dinner daily and you are likely to consume about
100 fewer calories at that meal, or based on studies, 400
calories less per day for women, and still feel full all day.
