Course Information
The transition area will be open 5:30 – 7 a.m. The course officially closes at 11 a.m. for all participants.
- 350-Meter Swim — 50-meter outdoor pool
- 12-Mile Bike (2 loops) — The bike course is concrete urban roads. It is flat and fast. Each major intersection and turn around will be traffic controlled.
- 5K Run — The run course is fairly flat. Aid stations will be located approximately every 1 mile. Each aid station will be equipped with water and Accelerade.

Entry Fee
Individuals:
- $55 by May 1, 2010
- $65 by July 1, 2010
- $75 after July 1, 2010
Relay Teams:
Add $20 to the Individuals price. Online registration only.

Packet Pick-up
July 22 • 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. • Richardson Bike Mart at Coit and Campbell in Richardson
July 23 • 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. • Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch, 7910 Collin McKinney Parkway, McKinney Map/Directions
Participants must pick up their own packets. On race day, neither packet pick-up nor registration will be available.
There will be a $25 transfer fee if you want to give your race number to someone else.
If you do not pick up your packet at one of the dates listed, we will sell your race number on race morning. Absolutely no refunds.
Cooper Summer Sprint Triathlon is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event. All participants must be a current annual member of USAT OR purchase a one-day permit for $10 online or at packet pick-up.
Post-Race Breakfast
Tenley's Café inside Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch will serve FREE breakfast to all race finishers pool side. Spectators can enjoy breakfast, too, for just $5 each.
Awards
The overall male and female winners and masters will receive trophies and additional prizes.
Trophies will also be given out to the first, second, and third place winners in the following categories:
- Relay team
- Athena — age 39 and under • age 40+
- Clydesdale — age 39 and under • age 40+
- Age group — top three males and females per age group
FREE Triathlon Clinic
July 23 • 7 – 8 p.m. (the night before the triathlon)
Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch
Experienced triathletes and first-timers alike will benefit from the free triathlon clinic. Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch Cycling Pro, Chris Gescheidle, will lead the clinic and provide tips and strategies to maximize your triathlon experience.
Topics include:
- setting-up transition
- getting the most from your pool swim
- choosing between a road bike and a triathlon bike
- commonly violated USA Triathlon rules
- race day nutrition and more
Triathlon Training
at Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch
Basic Course — 10 weeks
Begins May 17
- Customized workouts written in an easy-to-read format
- Three private sessions, one with each Cooper triathlon pro (swimming, cycling, and running)
- Two group sessions (free childcare available)
- Entry fee for Summer Sprint Triathlon
Cooper Fitness Center members — $275
Non-members — $350
Upgrade Course — 10 weeks
Begins May 17
- Customized workouts written in an easy-to-read format
- 10-week pass to Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch (includes use of facilities, competition pool, and all group exercise classes)
- Three private sessions, one with each Cooper triathlon pro (swimming, cycling, and running)
- Six group sessions (free childcare available)
- Entry fee for Summer Sprint Triathlon
Cooper Fitness Center members — $350
Non-members — $475

To help you train, get a FREE two-week pass to Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch. The pass is good Sunday, July 11, through Friday, July 23, 2010.
