The Proof
In 2002, The Cooper Institute conducted a double-blind, randomized clinical trial—the gold standard in research—of nearly 200 subjects. The results from the six-month study were presented during a congressional hearing on July 25, 2002.
The first of two manuscripts from the clinical trial appeared in October 2003 in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. Results indicated that the Cooper Complete Iron Free formula was highly absorbed. In addition, it lowered the oxidation rate of LDL cholesterol by 14.6 percent and homocysteine levels by 17.2 percent.
A second manuscript published in The American Journal of Medicine in December 2003 showed that Cooper Complete had a positive impact on inflammation—reducing levels of C-reactive protein by 32 percent.
