Fitness Facility Consulting
Let our experts design a fitness center for you.
Cooper Corporate Solutions can provide consulting services on an as-needed basis to aid in the strategic planning, development, and ongoing operation of comprehensive fitness/wellness centers.
Project Review – Through review of project concepts, market research, design plans, financial projections, operating plans, and other related details, Cooper consultants make formal recommendations to enhance project strategies and measures for success. Likewise, areas of concern are identified and credible solutions are presented.
Feasibility Study – Cooper consultants research the need and potential profitability for the proposed project. Target market segments are defined by various demographic and psychographic characteristics. Potential competitors, local interest, industry trends, and other relevant factors are the basis of a comprehensive report on the overall probability for success. Cooper can also develop a baseline assessment of needs and interests for planning and evaluation purposes. We assist clients in developing customized assessment techniques that will deliver the answers needed to plan a fitness facility.
Strategic Business/Operational Planning – Working with key organization personnel, Cooper consultants develop a comprehensive plan covering a minimum of one year. Measurable objectives, tasks, timelines, resources/responsibilities, and accountability/quality control strategies within the areas of staffing, facilities/environment, programs, evaluation, and marketing/promotions are outlined. This plan, along with the financial proforma, provides the basis for the annual budget.
Financial Proforma – If market surveys have already been completed or if a stand-alone financial analysis is required, Cooper consultants project revenues and expenses over a pre-determined period of time (typically five to 10 years) using assumptions from client information, current research, industry trends, and our years of experience. Our multi-page workbook uses various pricing and service options to forecast potential profitability.
Facility Design and Development – Cooper consultants work directly with clients or Cooper architectural/contractor teams to provide ongoing design recommendations to maximize efficiency and facility functionality. Space requirements and pertinent space adjacencies are identified. At any stage of the project we can create single line drawing floor plans, recommend amenities, and recommend vendors.
Equipment Selection and Layout – Cooper consultants provide a comprehensive list of all clinic and exercise/fitness related equipment necessary for the project including a multi-page comparison of products, pricing, and technical specifications. These recommendations do not include general administrative items or office furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Objective recommendations are provided. Commissions or other favors are not accepted from manufacturers or vendors. On-site support can be provided during the equipment delivery phase to ensure proper equipment installation, placement, and final inspections.
Staff Recruitment and Training – Leveraging our reputation for impeccable health and fitness staff, we assist with the recruitment, hiring, and training of project personnel. To ensure outstanding customer service and expertise, Cooper Aerobics Center maintains a rigorous hiring process of interviews and screenings. Once staff is in place, we use science and research as the foundation for each training phase. The Cooper Institute's one-of-a-kind teaching and training methods are student-oriented to maximize participant comprehension of health and fitness concepts and application strategies.
Facility Evaluation and Program Audit – Cooper can provide periodic on-site program audits – bimonthly, quarterly, or biannually. Program evaluations and recommendations can focus on a variety of areas including staffing, facilities, operating procedures, training, protocols, offerings, evaluation, and marketing/promotions. A written evaluation will be provided including a brief summary of findings and recommendations for continued improvement.
