Dr. Eisenstein is director of gastroenterology. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (UTSW) in 1967. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital at Chapel Hill as well as an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the VA Hospital/UTSW. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology, along with being a certified nutrition support physician. Dr. Eisenstein is also a clinical professor of internal medicine at UTSW. From 1968 to 1970 Dr. Eisenstein was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. His areas of special medical interest include gastroenterology, nutrition, and preventive medicine.
